Lake District Corporate Events

A wide variety of exciting corporate events can be organised to add that extra-special touch to your meeting or conference. All events are available locally, within 20 miles, and transport is easily arranged.

Wherever possible the events take place within the breathtaking beauty of the Lake District National Park or in the North Pennines - England's largest 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.

Appleby Manor has teamed up with a variety of local organisers, notably the very professional team at Rookin House Farm, to bring you a host of interesting things to do, a selection of which appears below.

  • Golf
Appleby's well-kept 18-hole moorland course is both challenging and rewarding. You'll have a great game, whatever your handicap. Information on other nearby Cumbrian golf courses is also available.

  • Quad Biking
There is very little to match the excitement of powering your own four-wheel-drive quad-bike across the wild fell sides of the Lake District. Clear and careful training is followed by a ride, putting the machines and their drivers to the test. Descend steep slopes into rocky river beds, cross frightening inclines, and climb over the bumpy remains of dry-stone walls, before returning swiftly across a grassy meadow. All surrounded by the most amazing scenery you can imagine!

  • Clay Pigeon Shooting
Rookin House Farm features probably one of the most comprehensive range of different types of clay-pigeon shooting in Britain. Whatever your preference, you'll find it here.

  • Walking Treasure Hunt
Try one of Appleby Manor's made-to-measure walking treasure hunts for a bit of friendly competition.

  • Falconry
The local falconers will happily train small groups in the art of falconry. There is something particularly satisfying about working in harmony with a bird of prey and this one-day course will ensure that you get to sample all sides of this interesting sport.

  • Other Activities
Other activities available include canoeing on Lake Ullswater, abseiling, and archery.
