Hotel Staff Win Awards
Appleby Manor Country House Hotel is a member of Classic British Hotels and has initiated a staff awards program called "celebrate success". The aim of the program is to highlight exceptional customer service and professionalism in the hotel accommodation sector. Each hotel nominates team members who show outstanding dedication and commitment to attain these goals.
At Appleby Manor Hotel we are very proud of all the team members but especially the success of Pauline Coward who has worked in many different roles within the hotel for 16 years (mainly housekeeping). Pauline has been awarded regional winner for the North West, awarded regional runner up was Jill Brass who joined the team 18 months ago as a waitress in our restaurant. Jill recieved a bottle of Champagne to recognise her achivement. Pauline has recieved a week-end break for two in one of a comprehensive list of hotels in Britain, she goes forward to the national finals to be held at Crieff hydro hotel, Scotland.

Appleby Manor Housekeeper Wins Top Award
Long serving housekeeper at Appleby Manor Country House Hotel, Pauline Coward, has won a five night break for two in New York in a nationwide competion staged by Best Western hotels.
The scheme is aimed at rewarding staff who provide consistently high levels of customer service at the consortium hotels throughout Great Britain. National winners in four catagories were commended at the best western national conference, held at the Crieff Hydro Hotel, Scotland, for thier commitment to customer care. Former world athletics champion Kriss Akabusi presented the winners with thier prizes.
Pauline walked away with the overall winner award - the holiday for two in New York. The judges said that during her 16 year employment with Appleby Manor Hotel, near Penrith in the Lake District, she had demonstrated outstanding and relentless commitment to her job, to colleagues and clients at the hotel, thus recommending her for the award.
