December 2004 saw the completion of a new conservatory extension to the restaurant, adding a further 40 seats. Hotel guests can enjoy the charming views over Appleby castle and the beautiful Eden Valley, the hotels idyllic setting, nestled amid the hills of the Pennines and overlooked by the Cumbrian - Lake District fells. Furthermore a new patio area has been created in front of the restaurant. Guests are able to enjoy drinks; afternoon tea or light snacks throughout the day.
