Responsible Tourist Charter

Dear Guest,

Welcome to Appleby manor Country House Hotel

As an environmentally aware hotel we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and eliminating the waste of energy & natural recourses, with our long term goal of being carbon neutral.

During your stay please help us to reduce the impact we have on the environment.

Energy conservation helps reduce global warming and protects our areas of natural beauty like the Lake District Nation Park. With this in mind we request that when you are not in your room any lights and T.V, where appropriate, are switched off.

The hotel is heated by a biomass boiler fuelled with woodchip; our water comes from our own borehole and is UV filter so perfectly safe and delicious. Water conservation is something we all need to take part in to protect one of the world’s most vital recourses. With this in mind we will change bed linen every three days and on check-out, with towels changed every second day.

Naturally if you require changes more often please advise reception.

Many thanks for your support in helping shape a better future for our planet.

P.S if you have any suggestions please contact our front desk.
