Afternoon Tea at Appleby Manor
Afternoon tea has been somewhat forgotten and has been replaced by Tea and Coffee taken on the run from high street chains but at Appleby Manor we are bringing it back to a more genteel pace as envisaged by Anna the 7th Duchess of Bedford, who, in the 19th Century, was generally credited with the idea of taking tea in the afternoon.
Guests at Appleby Manor can enjoy a full afternoon tea service from 2pm-5pm. You can choose from a selection of homemade sandwiches, scones with jam and Appleby clotted cream, Chocolate brownie, Lemon Tart, Mini Chocolate Éclair, Carrot Cake, Jalapeno Sausage Roll, Home-made Biscuits and Eton Mess.
The tea menu includes speciality teas from Brodies of Edinburgh such as Breakfast Tea, Earl Grey with Cornflower petals and Green Tea with Japanese Cherry to name but a few. For that extra special occasion you could even add a glass of Sparkling wine.
